The department provides compulsory teaching of professional English and German in the fields of Applied Informatics, Information Management, and Economics and Management. In addition, the members of the department are heavily involved in foreign language research, especially in the area of psycholinguistics and cognitive linguistics as well as in emerging technologies and foreign language education.

This project will focus on the exploration of new approaches to second language acquisition among younger and older adults. The research will include both quantitative and qualitative methods, e.g. questionnaire surveys, experiments or interpretation analyses. The aim of the project is to identify most suitable methods or strategies in acquiring a foreign language, especially from the applied linguistics point of view. Thus, anybody willing to cooperate in this area is welcome!
