Diaconia of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren – Centre in Myslibořice is a Cristian non-profit organisation providing social services to senior citizens, people with dementia, especially with Alzheimer’s disease and with disabilities. An integral part of the activities is the restoration and care of the cultural monument – the castle with the park, where social services are also provided. The castle has significant, historical and scientific value, where its permanent preservation is in the public interest. In addition to social services, we offer the possibility of short-term accommodation in an attractive tourist area of the Vysočina region. We organize a number of cultural activities (concerts, festivals…), educational lectures not only for people from the surrounding area, but we also offer cooperation to foreign partners, both in the form of participation and possible performers or providing with visitors as well. We are able to pass on our know-how in the field of social services and monument care.

The history of the castle in Myslibořice dates back to the 12th century. During the World War Two, the castle was completely devastated, then unprofessionally repaired. The Diaconia – the owner of the castle provides social services which are non-profit and virtually all the operation costs are covered by donations and grants. We do not have enough resources to thoroughly maintain this historic building, especially since all construction activities are subject to strict regulations of the Heritage Institute, which also increases the cost of restoration. So as to keep the facility in operation and to ensure the operation and provision of social services in the future it is very important to carry out activities related to the accessibility of the facility (and also to reduce energy consumption). The reason is to ensure comfort for the clients (barrier-free access), to ensure conditions for the employees, the company, the public and the operation of the organization.

We share common values within Diaconia of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren. All of us together form a community which, in mercy and with hope, dexterously helps the needy.
