At present time there does not exist one single facility in Prague and in the neighbouring Central Bohemian Region, which would provide a systemic and complex joint care for mother and child. The submitted project aims to change this situation by 1) providing high-quality diagnostics, treatment and therapy facility for mothers and/or children patients who have a psychiatric diagnosis, 2) creating a functioning system of support for mothers (parents), whose child has a diagnosed mental, disorder and 3) creating a system of support for mother with psychiatric diagnosis, which have a problem, thanks to their handicap, in caring for their child, and who are thus under threat that their child will be removed. The system will include, besides maximum of out-patient elements, which are designed to make the family self-reliant again, also elements of long-term field care. In the long-term the project will result in independently functioning families without the need for repeated hospitalization of their members or temporary or permanent removals of children from their care and placement of these children in foster care.
