Objective of the Project |
The project aims at the promotion of equal opportunities of women and men, concretely at the issue of domestic violence as one of the forms of gender-based violence, and promotion of the balance between work and private life. The project is implemented on the basis of the executed analysis, which showed that issues of domestic violence and reconciliation of work and private life have not been addressed much in the Czech society. At the same time, the set areas are included as priority ones in the strategic and conceptual documents of the Czech Government. One part of the project focuses on reduction of the domestic violence incidence and latency. Domestic violence is a very widespread form of violence, nevertheless it is often hidden. For that reason the project supports a wide-spread media campaign focused on general public (including own website, informative campaign directed through social networks, TV spots, billboards and other accompanying propagation). Accompanying 11 expert surveys and analysis will be elaborated in cooperation with universities and research institutions. The second focus of the project is the improvement of the balance between work and private life both among civil servants and the general public. Under this area, an exchange of good practice among particular stakeholders, both at national and international level, will be implemented and shared in the public administration through a newly created methodology. The topic will be also promoted on the national level through the media campaign. An integral part of the project is the bilateral cooperation with Alternative to Violence, the NGO from Norway which will help to promote the objectives of the project at the annual meeting of the Commission on Status of Women by the United Nations.
