One of the first activities that took place under the newly opened Fund for Bilateral Relations was the student exchange between Mathias Lerch Gymnasium Brno and Liechtenstein Gymnasium Vaduz. This bilateral activity with the Czech Republic only confirms the fact that the cooperation in the field of education is a longterm and most relevant priority for Liechtenstein in the new period of the EEA and Norway grants. The first part of this initiative took place in the middle of September this year. Sixteen students from the Brno Gymnasium, together with two teachers, set out to explore the roots of the common history of the Czech Republic and Liechtenstein. Students and teachers first visited the Embassy of Liechtenstein in Vienna, followed by visit in the Royal Palace in Lower Austria, in order to eventually sit down in the classroom of the Gymnasium in Vaduz. In addition to attending the school and getting acquainted with the education system in Liechtenstein, participants from the Czech Republic had also the opportunity to visit a number of historical monuments and to get to know more about one of the smallest European countries. In October, the students and teachers from Liechtenstein will go to Gymnasium in Brno where a very interesting program is planned for them.
