Project description:
The ICANA project represents a bilateral co-production program between Art Movement and Culture Break Borders. The project has an interdisciplinary character and consists of an exhibition and a series of follow-up workshops and lectures in Prague and Oslo. An essential part of the exhibition is the influence of Czech and Norwegian animated production on each other. The world of creation and fantasy is the main motto.
The project aims to arouse interest in animation as such - not only in artworks and films but also in the process of their creation. It will show animation as the magic of reviving the inanimate, a wonderful illusion created by combining many static images alternating in succession with cosmic speed into a single living whole, which the viewer perceives as a story.
The project is designed primarily for students, families with children, and also for people with a deeper interest in animation. Everyone has access without distinction. The project also wants to offer the disadvantaged group the opportunity to actively participate. The organisers will address the offer to special-needs schools and non-profit organizations that deal with those groups of citizens.
Cooperation with Culture Break Borders adds value to the exhibition by an extensive presentation of Czech animated works to Norwegian artists and the Norwegian audience and its reflection among local artists and the audience.
