Project description:
The aim of the project is to create authorial theatre productions in the Czech Republic, Norway and Iceland in specially adapted caravans on the theme of home. In the production we will link art, animation and music, with elements and techniques of puppet theatre, object theatre, physical theatre and other crossover genres. Our audio-visual production in a caravan will be intended for audience in the Czech Republic and another two “sister” versions on the same theme, and based on the same creative principle. The main theme of the common project is to look at the phenomenon of home from the perspective of travel. When the mobile home is a voluntary choice for travelling or an adventure, and how it changes its meaning when it is the only shelter in crisis.
Theatre performance in caravans will allow intimate meetings between creators and a limited number of an audience in a small space. Thus, we can convey the feeling of home, family and community more authentically to the audience. Each performance will be a unique event, an intense personal experience of the present participants. They will be involved via gentle interventions by performers and via cooperating with each other, so they could receive a strong theatrical experience while being open to theme of home. Through authentic objects, music, sounds, smells, tastes, we want to support and invoke a personal association on the topic of home.
To create and maintain a satisfying and warm feeling of home, despite the unfavourable conditions of the world, is simply an even more important and fundamental artistic challenge with many overlaps, thanks to current global events. Art and culture elevate the spirit and, in crisis situations, uncertain future fills and promotes our humanity, uniqueness and belonging. Intangible but human and fulfilling, sustainable and simple versus materialistic, performance oriented and consumable from surplus. The fundamental parallels that touch each of us these days at home.
