Project description:
The project seeks to revive an immovable cultural monument – the premises of the former Jesuit College in Telč. The objective is to bring the centre to a new level, make it more open to the public and local communities and make it the social and cultural centre of Telč with a spill-over effect beyond the borders of the region.
The major objective is to make the public aware of the extraordinary work of the painter Míla Doleželová and her husband Jiří Mareš by creating an exhibition space to give access to and exhibit their paintings. The idea of creating the exhibition originates from the will of Míla Doleželová, who wished for a gallery with her paintings to be built in Telč.
For leisure activities, two art studios where art, music and dance workshops or classes can take place, are going to be built. In collaboration with the Museum of Romani Culture, a series of educational and cultural activities will be organised. A no less important goal is to make these activities accessible to our fellow citizens with disabilities.
The project activities will lay the foundation for the creation of a permanent exhibition in Telč which should actively contribute, in collaboration with other local actors, not only to the care for the cultural heritage, but also to the development of the local civic life and spreading awareness across society. A community centre will be created, which will be available to everybody without distinction.
