Recognition of the revitalization of the Lemberk granary by President Petr Pavel

The Lember Granary received great support thanks to Norway Grants, which helped to overcome part of the construction challenges associated with the revitalization of the granary. Thanks to this, the Lemberk Granary was transformed from a dilapidated building into a vibrant center of cultural and community activities. The granary now hosts exhibitions, workshops and cultural events, which significantly revitalized the local community. This success, among other things, helped to continue the established pace and further develop programs that will keep the granary as a key place for the cultural life of the area.

The 2024 season at the Lemberk Granary was officially opened on Children's Day on June 1, when it was reopened to the public. On this day, the Minaret Theater was presented and visitors could take guided walks through the Lemberk Step by Step exhibition, which is open throughout the season. At the end of July, the opening of the exhibition Private Atlantis - a selection of works by sculptors Alena Matějka and Lars Widenfalk took place in cooperation with the Kuzebauch Gallery. This exhibition can be visited until October 20. The Granary also recently hosted the Days of Folk Architecture with the support of the Liberec Region, together with Lenfest in cooperation with Markéta Váchalová. The program included workshops dedicated to flax processing, a seminar on natural materials, theater performances and musical accompaniment. In the coming weeks, you can look forward to more guided walks of the Lemberk Step by Step exhibition, an audio walk, and a discussion afternoon with twelve glassmakers from six countries, as well as the opening of the Connected by Hands and Hearts exhibition, dedicated to handmade glass inscribed on the UNESCO list.

The goal of the Lemberk Granary is to continue its development as a center for cultural and community activities, including expanding the program: additional exhibitions, seminars, and educational workshops that will deepen knowledge and relationships with the place and region.

The revitalization of the granary in Lemberk is proof that joint efforts and community support can bring exceptional results. The project not only restored a historic building, but also revived cultural events in the region.

„"The words of the President encouraged us and gave us gratitude and commitment for the years to come. We look forward to the next phases of this project and to being able to continue to bring value and inspiration to our community," add representatives of the Lemberk granary.

The President and the First Lady were presented with an issue of Material Times 5/2024, dedicated to the Lemberk granary.
