The programme supports the area of professional art and cultural criticism. Art and cultural criticism is an integral part of a creative process and it is necessary for artists and recipients of art and culture, as well as for general public. Supported projects should contribute to social dialogue, raising awareness of art and cultural criticism and promotion of high-quality contemporary art. Supported projects should help professional development of art critics. They should endeavor to exchange experience and cooperation among critics themselves, critics, artists and audiences, as well as an interdisciplinary cooperation at national and international levels (with Donor States in particular). Projects can also contribute to equality and integration of disadvantaged groups (Romani people in particular).

Projects in bilateral cooperation with entities from donor states will be favoured in the evaluation process. The bilateral cooperation will primarily entail residencies for professionals and exchange of information and know-how. To search for partners and to prepare the grant applications in partnership with entities from donor states, the potential applicants from the Czech Republic may use support of bilateral cooperation within the Programme Culture. More information are available here.
