The Programme supports the preservation of cultural heritage through its material restoration and especially through its subsequent meaningful use, which is the only way to achieve its long-term preservation and local development. Therefore, two open calls will be announced. One will address the preservation and restoration of immovable and movable heritage (also in combination), including strategies for long-term use and their implementation, through larger grants. The second will focus on the revitalisation and use of cultural monuments that are already in adequate condition, through smaller grants.

Both calls will accentuate capacity building and cultural entrepreneurship. To promote bilateral cooperation, both as a goal in itself and in order to find common solutions to common challenges, both calls will favour projects that are implemented in close cooperation with partners from the Donor States.

The projects will encompass preservation, restoration and presentation of cultural heritage and sustainable entrepreneurship strategies including the creation of networks of owners, administrators and managers with support from local communities, private sector and local and regional governments. These entrepreneurship strategies will propose how cultural heritage could be used with the involvement of local citizens and communities, including a proposal for further operation of the given site after the project has finished. The implementation of such strategies needs to start already during the project implementation period.

Support will be given to projects whose objective is to preserve and restore cultural heritage objects while also making them accessible to the public to the greatest extent possible, using outreach activities and innovative presentation methods, either direct, or through digitalisation and social media. Innovative use of advanced presentation technologies and the overall improvement of work with the audience with the aim of improving the accessibility and attractiveness of the cultural heritage for the general public are expected.

Besides technical restoration of cultural heritage, significant support will be given to its long-term adequate use and short-term exploitation, for example by means of new creative activities, workshops, specialised courses, conferences or seminars on restoration and revitalisation of cultural heritage, its use and work with the audience.

Open Call – Revitalization of Movable and Immovable Cultural Heritage

Eligible Applicants	*Entities that are owners or managers of cultural heritage :** Public or private, commercial or non-commercial and non-governmental organisations established as legal entities in the Czech Republic; International organisations/ entities or their agencies established or active in the Czech Republic. * Cultural heritage registered in the Central Register of Cultural Heritage of the Czech Republic (National Heritage Institute) or in the Central Register of Collections or in the libraries registered by the Czech Ministry of Culture. The categories of “National Cultural Heritage” and “UNESCO Heritage” are excluded. Natural persons are not eligible applicants.
Eligible Partners	Partners from donor states: Public or private, commercial or non-commercial and non-governmental organisations/entities established as legal entities in any of the donor states; International organization/ entities or agencies thereof established or active in anz of the donor states; Natural self-employed persons who are legal residents in any of the donor states. Partners at the national level: Public or private, commercial or non-commercial and non-governmental organisations/entities established as legal entities in the Czech Republic; International organisations/entities or agencies thereof established or active in the Czech Republic. Note: Natural persons are not eligible partners at national level.
Focus of Support	In the area of immovable cultural heritage, support will be given to: Immovable “Cultural Heritage” listed in the Central Register of Cultural Heritage of the Czech Republic. This involves buildings and groups of buildings as well as landscape and garden compositions as part of cultural landscape. Note: Preservation and restoration of immovable property in preservation areas (not separately listed as cultural heritage in the Central Register of Cultural Heritage of the Czech Republic) will not be supported. In the area of movable cultural heritage, support will be given to: Collection items and museum-type collections registered in the Central Register of Collections. Movable “Cultural Heritage” registered in the Central Register of Cultural Heritage of the Czech Republic. The most important parts of written cultural heritage. Historic written heritage (registered in the Central Register of Collections and Central Register of Cultural Heritage of the Czech Republic) as well as unique new library collections registered in the lists kept by the Czech Ministry of Culture may be subject to restoration works, digitalisation, documentation and presentation. Support will be given to the following activities: Construction and non-construction modifications and repairs of immovable cultural heritage, consisting mainly in conservative restoration, restitution of older conditions, corrective restoration, maintenance and stabilization repairs and restoration works, presentation, granting accessibility of the site for the public and suitable use; Creation of suitable environment in which movable cultural heritage, collections and library stock can be kept (including necessary construction works and technical measures), restoration and other artistic and technical works ensuring their long-term maintenance, any activities aiming at accessibility and further use (such as innovative presentation methods, digitalisation, etc.), Compulsory accessibility (as far as possible) and presentation of cultural heritage, i.e. long-term adequate use in a suitable manner as an inseparable part of the project: Immovable cultural must be accessible to the general public (used for example for cultural and educational activities, leisure time activities, community gatherings, innovative presentation of cultural heritage, business activities enhancing social cohesion, etc.) Movable cultural heritage must be accessible to the general public, or accessible for research purposes, including on-line access to digitalised cultural heritage. Formulation and implementation of business strategies will be compulsory and inseparable part of the project. Support will also be given to the following additional activities that may be implemented on a one-off or repeated basis (activities that can only be implemented as part of the activities defined above): Creative workshops, courses, conferences and seminars focused on cultural heritage restoration, revitalisation, use and management; work with the audience and cultural events, community gatherings, new creative activities, etc., as a desirable part of the project. The share of non-investment funding in the total amount of the requested grant must be at least 15%.
Specific Concern	Support for cultural heritage of minorities (including Roma and Jewish cultural heritage) and inclusive activities. Bilateral cooperation with partners from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. To search for partners and to prepare the grant applications in partnership with entities from the Donor States, the potential grant applicants from the Czech Republic may use the support of bilateral cooperation within the Programme. Note	Natural persons are not eligible applicants. The categories of the „National cultural monuments“ and „ UNESCO monuments“ are excluded from the support. Among the required annexes of the application are: A valid building permit or consent was issued or a statement of applicable planning and zoning authority was provided saying that a building permit or consent is not required (applicable to immovable cultural heritage). Positive statement EIA or a statement issued by the nature protection agency saying the statement EIA is not required (applicable to immovable cultural heritage). Obligatory statement pursuant to provisions specified in Act No. 20/1987 Coll., the State Cultural Heritage Conservation Act (applicable to movable and immovable cultural heritage). Project documentation (project documentation for issue of the building permit etc.) submitted in the electronic form (if relevant).

Open Call – Value Creation and Innovative Use of Cultural Heritage

Specific Concern	Support for cultural heritage of minorities (including Roma and Jewish cultural heritage), inclusive activities and bilateral cooperation with partners from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
