More greenery and moisture into the streets of cities and towns. Norway Grants offer millions to green the urban landscape

The call will focus on the support of specific nature-friendly adaptation measures of the blue-green infrastructure as well as on the elaboration of relevant territorial and settlement studies. Applicants as legal entities can receive support from 5.2 to 26 million crowns and thus cover up to 90% of eligible expenses of the project. The condition is that the implemented measures are based on local strategic documents, which set out the long-term approach of municipalities and regions to mitigation and adaptation to climate change.
Supported measures include, for example, the replacement of hard sufrace with residential greenery and tree planting, the installation of small green elements of which a significant part is living vegetation, or green facades, which, like green roofs, help cool the air, capture dirt, noise and make the urban environment more attractive. . Applicants can use the program to acquire or renovate water features in squares and other areas, restore lawns and flower meadows. Applicants will receive grant support for various elements of blue and green infrastructure with a positive impact on the microclimate, which cannot be supported by the Operational Program Environment and which have a demonstrable benefit in terms of climate change in municipalities and regions.
Receipt of applications for support for the Call will start on 12 August 2020 at 9:00 am.
