Summary:
The aim of the project is to improve the academic performance of Roma students in Pilsen and the surrounding area, to help students with selection, admission and study at secondary school, to improve communication between parents and schools in Pilsen, and to promote mutual understanding and respect between Roma and majority society.
Within the framework of this project, the project promoter will provide tutoring and study support. It will offer preschool children a club focused on acquiring key skills for a successful start in the school environment. For students, it will include individual and group tutoring, exam preparation, and educational consultation with them and their parents.
It will further motivate children to all-round development and learning through leisure activities such as regular interest groups in the clubhouse, one-off trips to the countryside, cultural and sporting events. The aim of these activities is to offer children a quality programme where they get the opportunity to develop their talents and experience that education can be fun and meaningful.
The project activities will include seminars for teachers, discussions with students, seminars with the Norwegian partner organization and training courses and activities for the organization’s staff.
