Project description:

The aim of the project is to improve the understanding of the rights of people with disabilities living in social services among direct care workers, social services management and officials. That is, the people who make decisions about the lives of people with disabilities, their participation in everyday life, and the support they receive.

The project focuses on the lives of people with disabilities in residential social services and their ability to assert and exercise their rights in everyday practice. The project responds to the current situation, where institutions and large institutions are still an environment where human rights are violated and clients do not have many opportunities to point out possible violations, often they do not even know what they have the right to.

The project is based on the principle that the nature of the problem can best be understood if it is communicated directly by the person concerned (client, person with a disability) or by a colleague in the field who has relevant experience in practice. This approach is reflected throughout the project, from the set-up to the activities to the outputs.
