Project description:
The main goal of the project is to promote positive changes in the life and social scenarios of substance users in twelve prisons and subsequently in eight regions of the Czech Republic to which they will return after serving their sentences through multidisciplinary care.
These changes will be characterized by the subjective satisfaction of the clients, an increase in their quality of life, acceptance of social norms and leading a life in accordance with them.
Therefore, in cooperation with six partner organizations with many years of professional experience, the project will implement a Case Management Program with the ambition to stabilize inmates after release; mainly in the areas of housing, employment, family and continuity of follow-up addiction and health care.
Direct work with clients and the growth of its quality will be supported by a system of regular training and supervision of staff. The interconnection of professional care will lead to mutual cooperation with the professional staff of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic and follow-up services. Public awareness of the problem of addiction 'behind bars' will be raised and the positive image of staff helping convicted drug users will be reinforced.
In the long term, the project will contribute to the reduction of criminal recidivism of the supported persons.
