Project description:
The "To Freedom with a Mentor" project addresses the lack of care for people in and after prison who, for various reasons, do not reintegrate back into society after release from prison and more than 60% of them reoffend.
The project will update, add and evaluate the current methodological procedures of the applicant's reintegration programme Mentoring and then implement it for convicts in five prisons in the Czech Republic.
The change will be in the effective social assistance and individual and comprehensive counselling of persons leaving the prison environment, using close cooperation and collaboration between the mentor and prison staff.
The project will contribute to the solution of the problem of failing institutional care for released prisoners, where in direct cooperation with the Prison service, the Probation and Mediation service, social probation officers, and other involved organizations, it will focus on convicts with a prediction of major problems in their integration into society.
