Project description:

The purpose of the project is to improve the conditions for people in the process of leaving the custodial sentence in 5 prisons (Heřmanice, Ostrov, Světlá nad Sázavou, Příbram, Oráčov).

The basic principle of cooperation with persons leaving prison will be to support them in their activation and strengthening of their ability to deal with their life situation. This principle will be reflected in the whole process of cooperation with clients in order to achieve empowerment and greater independence of the persons involved.

Work with the target group will start in prison and support will continue fluently after their release. Activities are focused on addressing key areas such as assistance in securing housing and other basic material needs; assistance in finding a job, including retraining; development of functional family relationships and other supportive social contacts;  solving the financial situation etc.

The innovation of the project lies in the creation and validation of the methodology of the Mentoring Programme, which will be used for practice by other entities. A training manual for mentors will be created and the cooperation between prisons, NGOs and other actors will be improved.
