Objective of the Project |
The main objective of the project is to contribute to mitigation of negative impacts of climate change on settlements (towns and cities) in the Czech Republic. This objective will be achieved by supporting completion of analyses of climate change impacts at the local level, supporting creation of local strategies of adaptation to the climate change and promoting adaptation measures in the target group of the local public administration, in particular, self-government. In course of the project, a set of tools will be generated for identifying the threats for towns and cities caused by the climate change, methodical tools for creating scenarios of climate change impacts at the local level and generation of adaptation strategies. This will create a virtual space that will enable access to the tools created by adaptation of foreign sources or newly created tools. It will also be possible to share case studies of towns and cities in this space. All tools and procedures will be introduced in a cycle of seminars for the public administration that will be focused on the strategic and political aspect of the adaptation measures, as well as on the practical participative generation of scenarios and strategies. The entire project will be supplemented with promotional and connecting activities, including generation of data and practical environmental education in area of adaptations to the climate change for all levels of schools. |
