Objective of the Project |
The project deals with conservation and recovery of wetland and xerothermophilous, resp. sub- xerothermophilous sites in the Czech Republic. It consists in practical measures in 67 selected locations, leading to fragmentation reduction and biodiversity support in these stations. Other activities include obtaining of data for determining optimal management in the future (inventory surveys of selected groups of organisms, generation of several specialized studies, generation of protection plans for 37 locations), popularization of the issue of endangerment and conservation of wetland and “prairie” sites (nature trail, tours of locations, printed papers, web) and exchange of experience with care of such sites (specialist conference, seminars). 17 entities, mostly land institutes, works on the implementation. It also involves the Norwegian nonprofit organization Naturvernforbundet i Buskerud (NiB).
