A day full of music, competitions and interesting projects, workshops for children and adults. The event is free.

Do you feel that grants are just boring bureaucracy, without clear benefits and results? Or are you already living in this world and think that you can no longer learn anything new? Whether you belong to the first or the second group, come and see for yourself that the EEA and Norway Grants support interesting and inspiring projects that make sense and and have real impact often even beyond the borders of the Czech Republic.

We have prepared for you a selection of projects from the fields of culture, human rights, justice, health and public administration.

What can you experience?

  • music and entertainment program for all generations;
  • creative workshops where you can learn something new and try, for example, juggling, making glass paintings or preparing ink according to the recipes of the old masters;
  • inspiring workshops, lectures and discussions focused, for example, on anger management, mental health of children and adolescents or the creation of documentary theatre;
  • meeting interesting people and projects that change the world around us;
  • tips for trips to the monuments of the Czech Republic, which were helped to revive by EEA Funds;
  • "winter" photo corner and contests for nice prizes not only for children.

Popular moderator Vladimír Kořen will guide you through the whole day.

We start on September 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. and you can stay with us until the evening hours, when Pavel Callta's concert with the band ends the whole day.

You can recharge your energy in the refreshment zone on the main floor.

You don't have to worry about bad weather, all workshops, discussions and lectures will be held in covered spaces.

How can you reach us?

At the moment, you can get to the Exhibition Grounds from the metro station "Nádraží Holešovice" by taking the replacement tram X27. Then use the 'Brussels Gate' entrance (via Stromovka), and from there head right towards the Křižík Pavilions.


 

 

 

Main stage

Presented by: Vladimír Kořen

The charismatic moderator and science popularizer Vladimír Kořen will guide you through the EEA and Norway Grants Festival all day long! Vladimír is not only a well-known presenter and author of the popular TV show Miracles of Nature. For his work on the popularization of science and environmental protection, he received the prestigious Česká hlava award.

A playful concert for families with children. The band Pískomil se vráci (The Gerbil comes back) belongs to one of the few professional bands in the Czech Republic, which is dedicated exclusively to modern children's work and creates intergenerational entertainment, during which not only children but also parents have fun. Piskomil's album Hotovoo has just been released. During the live concert, you will enjoy Pískomil's stories, original texts, stomped, live songs and great work with the children's audience. Suitable for children from 5 to 13 years old.

Enjoy the energetic show of the six-member pop rock band from the Central Bohemian region. They play exclusively original songs in English and are gaining more and more fans. Their hit Unexpected conquered the Europe 2 chart, where it stayed on the first place for 4 weeks. This year, in addition to concerts, the band is preparing to release its debut album TOTHESTARS.

Experience a unique concert by Pavel Callta, a Czech singer and composer whose voice and hits like "Nezapomeň" or "Mami" are known by everyone! From the debut album to the latest hits, Pavel and his band bring a mix of emotion, energy and musicianship to the stage. Let yourself be carried away by their live performance.

Project stands

Stands of selected projects will be set up in the area in front of the main stage, where the results and benefits of the implemented initiatives will be presented. Here, visitors will be able to familiarize themselves in detail with projects from the fields of Culture, Health, Human Rights, Justice and Good Governance. They will see presentations, virtual reality, workshops. They will also be informed about other areas of support from the EEA and Norway Funds and will test their knowledge in prize competitions.

At the Technological Agency of the Czech Republic, you will find small interesting things from the world of science, research and innovation. You will learn many of them through a fun quiz, and we have prepared nice prizes for the most successful ones.

The State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic invites you to the fun hive of the Norwegian Funds: Environment, Ecosystems and Climate Change program. Play bee-themed Bee(r) Pong and help the bees collect as much pollen as possible! Learn about green projects supported by Norway Grants.

What sights to visit while traveling around the Czech Republic

Twenty monuments supported by the Culture Program, which is the largest of all programs, await you at the cultural monuments stand. Stop by and find out some interesting facts about monuments, interesting exhibitions or tips for great trips. Every twenty minutes there will be a presentation of a different project.

Stand no. 1 - Virtual reality

Two projects will present virtual reality in an interesting concept. These are the projects „Iron smelter Barbora revitalization in Jince“ and „Virtual model of the Main Building of the Municipal Library of Prague: a modern online experience and knowledge space“.

Stand no. 2 - Presentation of patient organizations

Project „Pacients hub“ was created to offer patients and patient organizations free education, opportunities to connect with other actors in the health sector. Patient organizations represent the interests of other patients in the health care system and draw attention to the problems that life with a given diagnosis brings.

  • 15:00-16:00 Anežka Dašková: Communication in health sector

Anežka Dašková is a doctor of neurology with experience in the field of palliative medicine. She herself lives with a chronic autoimmune disease. It was the view of health care from both sides that made her focus on topics in the space between health professionals and patients, whether in the non-profit sector or through social media.

Project  „Establishement and development of the National Association of Patient Organizations (NAPO)“ helped create an organization that helps its members advance the collective interests of patients and supports them in their work. It represents 46 patient organizations.

Stand no. 3 – ProFem: how and where to seek help for victims of domestic and sexual violence

ProFem´s activities and its three very useful projects „Fighting the stereotypes and myths about sexual violence through awareness-raising", „Center for Victims of Sexual Violence“, „Development of the Platform for the Assistance to Victims of Sexual Violence“.

Stand no. 4 – Birth in peace without violence

Birth in peace without violence“ project connects professional organizations throughout the Czech Republic that participate in the cultivation of care for pregnant women, women in labor and women after childbirth. At the same time, it mediates education for health professionals and education towards the public on the issue of the quality and safety of maternity care, draws attention to the issue of obstetric violence, traumatization not only of women but also of health professionals, and brings documents and information to the professional public that help them provide care at the most professional level possible.

Stand no. 5 – Better conditions for people in socially excluded areas

Project „Roma leaders - the drivers of change“ helped establish closer cooperation between Roma and pro-Roma actors in the Moravian-Silesian and Olomouc regions.

Project „Saste roma“ focused on the development and implementation of tools to strengthen the prevention of specific transmissible and non-transmissible diseases in the Roma community, as the health of the population in socially excluded communities has been in a poor state for a long time. The reason is not only the poor availability of health care, but also the low awareness of the population about the prevention and symptoms of diseases.

Stand no. 6 – Mental health of children, adolescents and adults

Project „Hlava v pohodě“ is an audiovisual educational program that includes 8 thematically focused modules. In the Hlava v pohodo podcasts, we mainly talk about problems and what teenagers are dealing with today. They try to offer them a solution, to tell them that they are not alone, where they can go for help and that they should not be afraid to talk about it.

Project „Implementation and evaluation of Childtalks+“ supports children whose parents suffer from mental illness.

Stand no. 7

Child and adolescent mental health team in Kutná Hora, municipality withe extended competence: founding, pilot operation and multidisciplinary programme“ will present its project. The afternoon part will be dedicated to the project „HateFree culture“ A place for everyone - building a space for mutual coexistence". The presentation of the project will also include an interesting lecture in Pavilion C.

Stands no. 8, 9 a 10 – How do prisoners live in prison and after release?

One of the key areas of support is the Justice Program, which brings new approaches in working with prisoners aimed at long-term reduction of drug use, increasing motivation to change, support for reintegration and improvement of the professional qualifications of convicted persons. These changes aim to facilitate the return of convicts to society and reduce recidivism.

  • Probation and mediation service:Back to life“ project and fist Probation house in the Czech Republic.
  • „Living book“ - 13:00-13:45 - Rudolf, the employee and former client of the RUBIKON Center, will present his life story and lived experience of serving a sentence. Are you interested in living with a criminal record? Don't be afraid to ask our "living book". You might be surprised.
  • Debate: Vězeňská duchovenská péče (Prison clergy care)
    Time: 17:30-18:00

    Moderator: Kristýna Čobanová, chairwoman of the VDP, project specialist

    Prison clerical care, z.s. in the years 2021-2024, it implemented a project called Podané ruce mentora (The Given Hand of a Mentor).

    The mentor accompanied the convict both in prison and helped him manage even the most difficult phase - i.e. rejoining society after release. What was the most difficult and what gave the mentor and the convict motivation to continue the cooperation? Is this method of support, inspired by the Norwegian experience, also effective here? You can see the world behind bars in our discussion.

Workshops and Presentations - Pavilion C

In Pavilion C, you can participate in discussions and workshops on various topics, e.g. How to constructively manage anger? How to be a good parent? or How do politicians "play" on our emotions? And if you are interested in what the Funds have achieved, video spots from our projects will be shown throughout the day.

Viliam Dočolomanský together with his group Farma v jeskyni (Farm in the Cave) created the "Online Hero" project, which through an artistic experience and educational formats uncovers the influence of manipulative political marketing on the lives of each of us.

Workshop: How to develop adolescent mental health competencies and prevention of mental health problems

The workshop will present the project Primary prevention of mental disorders in children during early adolescence and related activities, implemented at the Faculty of Education of the University of Olomouc.

Presentation: Improving the availability of public services in the territory using geolocation data

Time: 14:30-15:30

The Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic, thanks to the project "Improving the conditions for decentralization and accessibility of public administration in the territory" financed by the EEA and Norway funds, has a unique data base on the mobility of the Czech population. It processes this data for its analyzes of the development of public administration and the structural setting of the administrative units of the state.

At the same time, the ministry operates a geolocation data portal (www.kamdojizdime.cz).

 

Presentation: The Way to Better Parenting: About the Triple P Positive Parenting Program with Experts, Educators and Parents

The Positive Parenting Program is a world-renowned program that gives parents and caregivers the skills needed to build strong family relationships, manage inappropriate behavior and prevent problems before they happen. The Triple P Project teaches parents the skills they need to raise confident, healthy children and teens and build stronger family relationships. This Australian program based on scientific research confirms the positive effect on the health of the whole family and has already supported over 200 families in the Czech Republic.

What to do so that the first great love does not bring violence into my child's life - screening of the film "Everything is best at home" and discussion

Broken family relationships, physical and psychological violence, denial of the problem, feelings of helplessness and despair as well as moments of joy and relief. Situations typical of violence in close relationships are depicted in the film Everything is fine, at home is best?, which is part of a new prevention program for teenagers.

The government's "HateFree Culture" campaign has been running for more than 10 years. How did the moods in society change towards individual minorities? Is it possible to respond to them effectively? And what happens when the hate turns against you?

Kids zone – activities for children

For children, we have prepared a juggling workshop, a fairy tale and music therapy, creative painting, sandblasting glasses, making badges and lots of other fun. They can look forward to the work of dog handlers and virtual reality. There will also be a theater in a caravan.

We will present the Polynesian myth of how Maui tamed the Sun. Set in the land of Aoteroa, this legend tells the story of how a brave hero tames the great Sun God “Tama-Nui-Te-Ra” to benefit his people. We will use musical instruments to tell this tale of cunning and bravery. Both adults and children will enjoy the story. All are welcome!

The Prison Service of the Czech Republic will present a demonstration of the obedience of a service dog and the search for prohibited substances.

Juggling workshop

Come try the circus at the workshop of CIRQUEON - Center for a new circus! You will try different juggling techniques such as juggling balls, flower sticks, plates or hoops. Children and adults can come to the open workshop at any time during the workshop.

Test your creative skills during a painting workshop. Lecturers from the project "The world of the Roma in the work of the painter Míla Doleželová - exposition and cultural educational program of the Central European Center for Cultural Heritage in Telč".

At the workshop we will together create a large-format painting approx. 1.5x4 m. Everyone can participate, regardless of age, disability or any other difference. We create inclusively.

The Barvolam association has been supporting artists with intellectual disabilities or on the autism spectrum since 2016.

Moetivi Karavan / Expedition home

An experiential production suitable for both young and old takes place inside a caravan, which is also an art installation. In the Moetivi caravan, ordinary things that everyone has at home come to life. Inside there is coziness, safety, play, mystery... and maybe even a reindeer will come... Workshop: Making glass pictures

Meet the mascot of the EEA and Norway Funds Festival - our Reindeer. You will meet him not only in the winter photo corner in the Kids zone, but throughout the entire festival area. Children who catch a photo with the Reindeer can look forward to a small reward after completing some tasks :-)

Workshop: The story of Oak balls

Come to the unconventional program of the Olomouc Art Museum! A morning and afternoon workshop awaits you, during which you will discover the story of oak balls called "dubenka" - "oak apple", which will take you back in time to the Middle Ages, when the book was a rare treasure and artists drew creative material only from nature. You will experiment with color pigments and try preparing ink according to the recipes of the old masters.
