Objective of the Project |
The key activity of the submitted project lies in the organisation of an international four-day Roma music festival. Its key as well as accompanying programme will introduce general public to the rich Roma culture in relation to the broad Roma history and traditions. The applicant´ s objective is to increase the understanding and tolerance toward the Roma from general public as the target group. The applicant is o.s. MIRET (civic association), which has been long presenting and supporting Roma music and educational activities for children from Roma families. The project will be carried out in cooperation with the partner from the donor state – Norway. The partner is a professional theatre ensemble from Norway which will get enough spce for presentation as part of the main as well as accompanying programme. It will introduce to the festival visitors culture and art typical for the given area. As part of the long-term cooperation we will also make use of their experience with presenting the art of different ethnic groups. Also culture of another donor state – Iceland – will be presented at the festival by one of the ensembles invited. Members of professional Roma ensembles from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Norway and Iceland will take care of the artistic and accompanying programme. |
