Objective of the Project |
A creative cooperation between the Norwegian and Czech partners (Jo Stromgren Kompani, B-Art, 420PEOPLE) in the field of contemporary dance. Their mutual partnership will culminate in the 8th Annual International Festival of Contemporary Dance TANECVALMEZ 2015. The Norway Grants project, EHP funds, and especially their program “Promotion of Diversity in Culture and Arts within European Cultural Heritage” may help to increase the qualitative and quantitative output of the festival by enabling it an innovative approach which could maximise its availability and the potential of new synergy effects in the form of an increase in the professional quality of the Czech artists. It may also improve conditions for their creative work and professional development, increase awareness about the contemporary dance art among the general public inhabiting the region distant from big cities, and enable those inhabitants to experience the Norwegian contemporary dance. Moreover, it will support the inclusion of the Czech dance art among the European leaders in the field. The project draws attention to the difficult but crucial role played by local artists in the field of contemporary art, particularly, in regions situated far from the major cultural centres where the awareness about the contemporary art is low. The town Valašské Meziříčí and its surrounding areas provide facilities and conditions for the creation of contemporary art; there is also a huge interest among the local inhabitants in dance. Therefore, it is clear that coming of the professionals into the region will enable the general public to experience this contemporary art expression in their own environment. |
