The Memoranda of Understanding for a new period of the EEA and Norwegian Funds between the Czech Republic and the donor states of Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland was ceremoniously signed at the Anežské klášter in Prague on 4th September 2017.

The Czech Republic will receive EUR 184.5 million (approximately CZK 5 billion) in the new period. Supported will be projects focusing primarily on research and innovation, environmental protection, cultural heritage, public health, education and cooperation in justice. Compared to the previous period the more emphasis will be put on human rights, Roma inclusion and the development of civil society. The new period also offers great possibilities for bilateral projects.

Specific focus of the Programs will be the result of negotiations in upcoming months. Due to necessary preparation and approval process, the announcement of the first calls is expected not earlier than in second half of 2018.
